Lecture - Wayne Parkin

Thank you for inviting me today, it is a privilege to be back here.
Now the way my team works with me is quite interesting. Over the last few days and on the way down here, I had nothing, then they dropped something in so, thanks team and what they dropped in is a quote from a film that I quite like called, “Jeff, Who Lives at Home.”
“Everyone and everything is inter-connected with the universe. Stay pure of heart and you will see the signs. Follow the signs and you will uncover your destiny.”
Who thought movies could be so profound? And so that got me thinking and the idea came that everyone is here, and we are all connected with fine lines of energy, and we are also connected to the rest of the world.
Just take being here for today, and in this moment. Now these moments that we are experiencing right now would not be happening without each of you individually being here.
The messages that are given today would not be the same messages if you were not here. I can’t prove that, but I do know that each of us has energy and that energy is connected to everyone here and that connectedness beings us together in a particular way. As I say, I can’t prove that but, quite often when we are talking about our destiny, we think of it being a long way off, something we want to reach, but I wonder, what if we flipped that thought around and saw our destiny as being where we are now.
From that premise, when we are talking about following the signs we start to pick up on the little glimpse that the Divine Universe places in our path that we often think of as coincidences or random connections. But, if everything is so inter-connected and we are inter-connected one to the other then, would there be any such thing as a coincidence? Because everything has been Divinely mapped, Divinely ordained, Divinely timed, and Divinely planned.
However, I am sure that you all have many examples of coincidences. One example that comes to mind that shows how we are connected to the Spirit world concerns my Mum. I had a call from my Mum who wanted me to prune an apricot tree. Now if you know Mums, after I got all the equipment out and ready to go, there she was ready to give me advice on how to prune. “Not too much” or “that’s not enough” you know how it went. Anyway, it ended in an interesting debacle. So, much later my partner and I were doing some gardening at our place, and it just so happened that the day we went to get something for the garden was my Mum’s birthday and the tree we got was an apricot tree. Now you might say, “Well that is just the way timing happens” but, when you think about it, why wouldn’t it be that the connection between my Mum and me led to the getting of an apricot tree? After all, we are Spirit living in a human body and I know that everyone has those experiences. There are the times when we have a thought about our loved ones in Spirit and a song will come on the radio that reminds us of them and that connection is made again.
What I have noticed is that the more you take notice of those connections the stronger they become. And the more often you begin to notice it becomes easier to live in your destiny and you can begin to think, “Oh, that is because of that. That is a sign.”
And the connection when we see things that don’t sit right with us; it might be something on the news or something someone has told us, and maybe it is a part of life that is challenging. When this happens this is a connection that we can send light to, we can send healing to, because it is these threads that bind us together. Yes, they may be very faint threads, because they are not a connection we have built up over time. As we come here and meet people, make friends or work with people, our interconnection is much stronger because we are in a sense working to build that connection from something faint into something very strong and that only happens when we put effort into making that connection.
So, the impact that we have can be very profound because we are all part of that Divine mechanism, that Divine timing and, we have that understanding that the person sitting next to you is there for a reason just as there is a reason that you came here today. Each of us makes the connection greater each time we consciously interact with the other person.
So, keep coming back. Put energy into everything that is happening whether it is good, bad or indifferent. We are not anywhere by accident and that can be really hard to understand. It may seem as if I know it all, but my humanness struggles only, I know that, where possible, I need to keep connecting and keep remembering.
We are trying to get to the reason of why we are here, and it may elude us but, by trying to make that connection to others in an effort to overcome our challenges, it can be that our connections provide us with the healing energy and then we can help someone else to get over their challenges. We need to accept that and let it flow through so that we become part of one big feedback loop, from me to you to them and we are all one working towards the same goal of being connected. Once we realise that connection, we can’t take things and people for granted. We can’t be unconcerned about how other people are; if they are well, if they are happy, if they need help. Because we are inter-connected, we will feel that pull of the connection in some way and it will impact on us.
So I encourage you to keep looking for the connections and, no matter how small they are, to notice how it makes you feel when you discover a connection that you may not have noticed before, for the more connections you can make the more you become alive to the world around you and to its wonder and its Spirit.
