First Harvest and Decluttering

Hello Everybody,

Well, what a beautiful day I have just spent.  This morning, I joined in with a beautiful sound bath in my garden, run by my daughter Selina and her daughter Trinity, and of course, yesterday was a very busy day with one of our Psychic Events.

We are coming into the year of the Fire Horse on February 17th leaving behind Snake energy

which caused many of us, shall we say politely, difficulties.

In Circle we have also been talking about the First Harvest which was on 2nd February; understanding how important it has been in years gone by, being in  touch with nature and the natural laws, understanding how they can teach us so much about our own cycles of life.

The First Harvest is all about Gratitude, Prosperity and Preparing for the colder months. At this time, we would be making the most of the abundant harvests around us; pickling, canning, making jams etc, to last through the winter and I still enjoy doing this as a hobby.

Celebrating might be as simple as walking in a forest, leaving a gift of crystal, fruit or flowers. Donating to your local Food Bank, usually at your Information Centre so that no one may go hungry.  See some live music or a local sporting event, visit a local market, or anything that gets you around community.

It is all very well talking about esoteric and spiritual things, however, sometimes we have to get practical and, in order to allow new energies to come in, we must release the old and that is where decluttering comes in.  We had a great time discussing this in Circle with many ooohs and aaaahs so I thought it would be a good topic to share.

I must qualify though. This talk is dedicated not so much to what I do, but please make a note of what I say. As I look around my tragic office space, hopefully it will rub off on me too, because all the gaps are filling up and I do need more space to continue my work.

I was very impressed with a recent YouTube video by Dana Claudet who is a Fengshui Expert, and she was telling us about the 10 steps to decluttering.

You might ask why it is important to declutter? Well, I am sure you have all had that great feeling when you have decluttered a drawer or a room and felt so much better and how amazingly, energy starts to shift in a positive way but, if you are anything like me, it seems overwhelming and where do you begin.  Well, one step at a time my dears, is what Dana suggested.

  • Declutter your shoes, sandals, slippers, all the uncomfortable worn-out shoes that you hang on to just because, or maybe one day they might fit.
  • You might like to get them fixed at a cobbler so you can keep them, or re-sell through a consignment shop or Market Place on Facebook, if you know they are of good value, or donate them to an op shop if they are too good just to throw out.
  • Your wardrobe as well, you know the things that don’t suit you anymore, that are worn out, or don’t fit. Perhaps bought in haste and regretted at leisure. Just donate them if they are good enough, someone else might love them, but it is not you any longer so please let these clothes go.
  • Clear out your lotions, potions, shampoos. Maybe they were expensive, but you never liked the way they felt or smelt.  Release them, they do not serve you.
  • Build up your natural energy but please get rid of anything that makes you feel bad about yourself, that old exercise bike, those weights, or gym memberships. Even the scales; if you are not using them, lose them.
  • Go into your supplements and get rid of all the out of date and unused ones.  Get over, “but they were expensive,” and “I should …….”
  • Let go of mementos that have negative emotions attached to them. Maybe a gift from someone whom you have bad memories about or didn’t particularly like even if it is from a loved one. Just let them go. They are holding you back.

One good way of moving things is, if you have a hobby that you love and you have created great works, when you are ready to part with the finished projects, just take a photo of everything you have made. You can make a photo book and then start distributing these items as heirlooms and gifts to family and friends. You could even put some up for sale giving someone else a chance to love and cherish them as much as you do. But only when you are ready.

  • Digital. This is a big one. Go through your phone, tablet and computer deleting as much as you can. How many emails do you have waiting for you, making you feel guilty, or maybe you missed something important because of the clutter.

How many repeat photos have you taken that you don’t need to store there.  You might find it delightful to make photo albums of family as they grow up, trips you have taken or special occasions to be treasured. Much better if they are not stuck in your phone that you have with you all the time, stagnating your energy.

  • Paperwork. Yes, you must keep some paperwork but, if they have negative energy around them (legal and medical for instance) put them in a neutral space rather than up front and center.

If they are already on your computer, you certainly don’t need to keep a hard copy and that old recipe that you have kept from 2010 or earlier and never made – you get the idea.  Google is a wonderful thing. You can usually find the information once more.

  • Journals. Yes, you want to keep the good bits, but you don’t have to keep everything that you have ever written. Be discerning and release with love all that is no longer relevant in your life.  Yes, you can rip out pages of negative thoughts from your journals and keep the positive ones.   Someone might be happy to read them in 100 years or so, but you don’t need to keep every single thing.
  • Finally, unfinished projects. Either finish them or let them go. Never feel guilty again when you look in a cupboard or a shed and see the projects you have never and never will complete. Either get someone to help you to complete them or release them with love.

Take a deep breath. Now, imagine what it will feel like to get rid of all that stuff. How light and pleased it will make you feel.  Imagine the possibilities that are now free to be created.

This is the year of the Fire Horse when dreams can move forward with power and grace, so do your bit to create the best circumstances to allow your energy to flow.

I do hope this has given you some inspiration and ideas for decluttering, it is such a powerful thing to do.

Love, gratitude, abundance and grace be with you.
