Lecture - Sunday 1st December 2024

Presented by Sheila Morgan

A Look At My Week

Sheila began by telling us about the Deepak Chopra workshop she and some Circle friends attended, and she demonstrated one of the exercises he asked the audience to perform. She then asked the congregation to do the same exercise and, as you can guess, there was a lot of laughing and talking as we set about trying to follow her instructions. The exercise was to demonstrate how we need to be supported in our lives.

“I also learned from him that there is an exercise we can do to calm those thoughts that go round and round in our heads and this is to do with the vagus nerves that carry signals between our brain, heart, digestive and immune systems.

So, the thing we can do is look up and smile. This will cause a break in the thoughts which means there will be a change because it is not possible to do this exercise and continue to think as before. So, next time you are experiencing repetitive thoughts, try looking up and smiling.”

Sheila went on to talk about how her week had progressed going through the days, detailing the activities that she was involved in, including giving a Reiki to a lady going through chemotherapy.

“Things change as we go along in our lives and the foundation we think we have with our friends can sometimes be a little unsteady and it is how we deal with the feelings that arise that shows how far we are along our journey.”

She spoke about discipline and how it is a necessary part of her life. “We must look after our physical body along with our spiritual body; each is important to our wellbeing. I always start my day with my connection to Spirit, giving myself a Reiki, doing my stretching exercises and going for a walk. This just seems to set the tone of the day.

We know that we have everybody around us in spirit but who are they and how can we connect more deeply with them. Also, there are things that we have free will and free choice about and I think that, before we come onto the Earth plane one of those things is, who is going to work with us this time around. Who is our Guardian Spirit? And just knowing that makes it easier to see our way and also to call on them when we need to.

was talking with a gentleman, and he had started out by being an artist, but his family said that he should get a serious job, so he stopped doing his heart work, his painting and he was so unhappy. My message is to follow your bliss.

will close with a quote by Rumi, “I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.”
